I just heard that Teddy was late 4 to 5 hours, I thought he was late 30 minutes, this is shocking even to habesha standard, I really hate when people get late by 20 minutes let alone 5 hours? why he did not phone the organizers letting them know the situation? I bet dressing up shirgud took them that long. Teddy is taking a piss hiding his face under large akafa sunglasses. After waiting for him for long the way he was welcomed like a head of state, I felt sorry for Yihunne Belay someone snapped the microphone off his hand in the middle of singing to welcome Teddy, this is stupid!. When are we going to learn respecting all people? instead of bending over to the authority? If I was the organizer, without a good reason delaying for 5 hours I would have told the guests to go home, he did not even bother to apologize as soon as he got there, who does he think he is?

The conclusion said = {[We should not be limited to sing only for patriotism.]}
commenter - 533 days ago
I like your reasoning but your conclusion is self defeating . If you say there is nothing wrong to sing for patriotism; there is nothing wrong, period ! I do agree with you that singing for your kebele or awraja is also Your choice and nobody can force you to choose for you !! We d do not need to talk about this issue that much seriously as it is a personal choice !!

I did not say singing for patriotism is wrong, it is natural to sing for the area you were brought, I have more feeling for the Awraja I grew up than for the entire country, sorry I can not hide my feeling, {yemayaqut hager aynafiqm alle- Minyahel Tilahun Gessese} .. All I was saying is that admiring the beauty of women by men artists is normal, Girma Gutema is idiot oromo nationalist, on forum65 interview he mentioned that singing for dalle and tutt is a sin.

Look, singing is not limited to professional singers, to Ethiopians and black people- singing is the way of expressing feelings, when we are happy we sing, when we are sad we sing, we sing in wedding, we sing in funeral, we sing during harvesting crops, we sing when a group of farmers digging together with Dongora or akafa, we whistle for animals, we sing in a war encouraging fighters, we sing after victory, we sing for God, where I grew up women carrying branches of leafs singing for rain to rain, as little children when we were hungry no food to eat we used to sing to forget the hunger, mother sing for her baby to sleep, singing is in our blood. We should not be limited to sing only for patriotism.

is it wrong to sing for patriotism, justice, equality, fairness,humanity or about your nation or the world at large. Who has the right to choose for me the kind of music I like or not ? The choice is personal and we do not need to love or hate one music together . Our difference is natural and admit the difference and live with it !!

I do agree with the comment below that there is nothing wrong to sing for a women or for anything under the sun as long as that person feels it and his audience loved it !! It is unfortunate that we are making every little thing a national issue !!!!

What is wrong with singing about women???? this is stupid political correctness at its best. It is natural to express love through poems or songs to the opposite sex, it is natural to admire the beauty of women. Unlike boundaries and nationalism are made by humans, anything made by humans can be reversed. Please do not try to undermine other talented artists because they sang about women, how many American artists sang about their country? very few, they sang about the beauty of New York or Georgia, etc.(they did not sing about nationalism) except the national anthem. How many male American artists sing about women? very many! The same goes to advanced European countries, very few follow politics let alone sing about nationalism, Winston Churchill was the hero of world war two, he was single minded never gave up until the Americans joined him in 1941 he was alone against the mighty Hitler army, his famous quote {we shall not surrender}, but there is no a sing song for him. We Ethiopians are exaggerated people, we love too much, we hate too much.
