Yes at the time one university was enough considering other factors together with many branches of colleges in other regions. For example Cambridge university is made up of many colleges in different places, they can open Cambridge college in India a branch of Cambridge university the same standard of curriculum. woyane named the former colleges as universities, Gondar medical college now Gondar university, Central Arid Zone Research Institute now Mekelle university, Agricultural college now Haremaya university, Jimma college now university, Awassa college now university, Bahir Dar Polytechnic Institute now university, kotebe college of Teacher Education now university, Ethiopian Institute of Architecture now public university etc. Look, Hailesilasie made many mistakes but he did good things more than the mistakes, he built the grand Anwar Mosque in Addis but they say he hates muslims, so many lies campaign has been going on.

Haile Selassie was overthrown maybe by Mossad (Israel agents). or Arabs any way, it was clear that it was an internationa conspiracy. BBC reported about the famine in Wollo and made out of it a political crisis. Haile Selassie's government has been trying to reach the poor farmers, who had to die for lackof food, even though there was food in the villages, which needed to be harvested. Why did not Britain protect Haile Selassie by getting him more supplies of food? Why did not US government stand by the side of Haile Selassie. It was an internation conspiracy. Mengistu was a CIA agent or became one in the process. Shit!

Haile Selassie was much better than all leaders after him. The problem is Haile Selassie very slow in industrializing and modernising the economy. There were few schoola and only one university. The Ethiopian youth in those days was full of energy, but had few opportunities as there were few factories. Haile Selassie could have a constitutional monarch like in Britain. Things went out of control and he was killed by Dergue. Very bad when Mengistu came to power. EPRP, TPLF, EPLF, OLF were very naescitic organisation. They had poor understanding of marxism-lenninism. But they felt as if they were wiser than all scientists and even Marx himself. We had really a misfortune, a national catastrophy. It was very scarry and hated that I was born to this cursed country and still do hate to have been part of that generation. Haile Selassie was tricked, poor old man !

Hailesilasie reunited Eritrea with motherland Ethiopia and he was about to reunite Djibouti with Ethiopia scheduled for 1975 but Derg came in 1974.

I think Hailesilasie deserves credit, there is no leader like him who modernized ethiopia before and after him, he put ethiopia on international map, huge achievements was made in terms of modernizing the politics of ethiopia, africa and black race. His downfall was land reform, he should have resigned from politics and stayed as constitutional monarchy, let highly educated people like Aklilu Habtewold fully run the politics.

Haile Selassie Is the basic couse of today’s problem in our country, by represing, killing and tortureing the people in the North mainly Tigryans and Eritreans. They start to fightback for their freedom.
