I bet no one here could come up with a parallel agony of what I & my family had suffered during the 1991 Shabia deportation campaign from Eritrea..Actually, I was "praying" for justice in all the "sweet" seven years( as Eritreans should call those periods).Yeah!,I am now feeling safe and secure after the war of Badme broke out for whatever reasons.And of course, after same was done to the shabia agents in Ethiopia also.Sorry,is that what we call "justice", I really don't know.But, it's a 1 to 1 situation now. well,What I would like to see hereafter is a renewed relationship.I am saying this,only because hating the entire population is by no means a solution and that what had happened,now I realize, is due to the stupid imagination of the Shabia crooks.

This act is as clear in its purpose as it can be. Fair or not, it is still a positive gesture towards peace building measures and effort to minimize damage against innocent people who may have suffered due to disagreements between two peoples. Furthermore, such an act is humane and clearly indicates the wish of Ethiopian government to live up to its responsibilities as a decent nation, thus establishing an unprecedented standard. Their might arise misunderstandings regarding interest of capital and the value depreciation of the Ethipian Birr, but these are not necessarily of major consequence when the goodwill is counted in, which is as good as money in the bank or even better if considered as social capital. Congratulations EPRDF for this defining step.

The lack of accountability in the way EPRDF treated the 'Eritrean issue' led to a non-sense war. I've a feeling that behind this, there is some twisted political motive. Gambling with the lives people always leads to destructions.

I thought EPRDF is tolerable, but not on this one. It is a clear evidence to people's suspicion about these two Tigrigna speaking cousins having a hidden agenda to rule and exploit ethiopia under different names. if anything has to lead to genocide in ethiopia, it's the strong but understandable feeling most Ethiopians have against eritreans. EPRDF is digging a deep grave this time. Allowing eritreans their so called independence is one thing, but to allow them continue exploit ethiopia is an insult to injury.
