It is unfair to be judgemental without hearing both sides of the story; but I think 2 things should be given considerations for the future of our athletes and athletics. Money at a young tender age could inflate ego so psychological support in this regard would be necessary to teach level-headedness. Although we have been blessed with superior athletes in every era, the dominants are quite few with no challenge from upcoming new talents to threaten their honours. So we need more and more quality athletes coming up in the ranks to keep them in their toes. In this regard I don't think Government will give priority to set up athletics institutions. So, what if some of the ever mushrooming schools and colleges in our country, which have the capacity to do so or perhaps with government support,be given permission, set up a well organised sports facilities and tracks etc, offer proper athletics training, churning out thousands of them who are talented both academically and in the sport. Our retiring athletes would also find career by becoming coaches in these institutes too.
With regard to the present incident, mediation probably by mature athletics personalities would resolve it. To say 'go to hell' to each other is utter childish with no body benefiting out of it. We do not manage our assets like that. Do we?
